Biographical Information

Jamille James received her Master of Social Work from Memorial University in St. John's, NF. After working in the Judicial and Healthcare systems she began private practice in 1994 as a Psychotherapist. Jamille's professional training includes studying in the United Kingdom with Spiritual Psychotherapist Judy Fraser, Director of Second Aid, and Helene Harris, Metaphysical Psychologist, of the White Lodge Centre of New Directions. As well, she has trained with John Walden who practices Spiritual Awakening Therapy in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Jamille has completed levels 1-5 and A-E in Shambhala International Meditation Training and has studied Healing Touch Therapy with the Holistic Nurses Association of Canada. Jamille's practice focuses on techniques that provide individuals, couples and families with the opportunity to work through periods of loss, transition, and change by promoting emotional healing and self awareness. Presently, Jamille practices Holistic Therapy and Counselling, where she specializes in personal growth and relationships.

Experience

• Facilitated therapeutic intervention, conflict resolution and mediation with therapeutic staff and management teams at Cumberlow Therapeutic Community, London, England.

• Provided both therapeutic and administrative services on behalf of patients and families on Emergency, Psychiatry, Surgery, Gynaecology, and Orthopaedic units at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital.

• Conducted custody assessments and supervised access at Unified Family Court.

• Coordinator/Supervisor at Day Break Day Care and Parent Centre.

• Counsellor for young offenders in an open custody setting at John Howard Society.

• Individual and group counsellor at Patrick House transition house for women.
